It was my husband’s birthday at the end of last month and so I made a card, of course! Well I think he’d be diasspointed if I didn’t after the last few years. However, this is the first time, for a long time, that I didn’t make one with a photograph of us on the front, but I didn’t have a great deal of time, and plumped for a more traditional greetings card, and so created this.

The Papers are from a 6×6 pad of Basic Grey “Boxer” papers, which can look a bit Christmassy, but they work well for masculine cards! A bit of ripping and distressing of a few scraps, with some items (such as the matted embossed card) up on adhesive pads for 3D interest and it didn’t take too long. I think I’m definitely a Scrapbooking Style Cardmaker!
Here are a couple of close-ups, the picture below shows a little more clearly the layering, the embossed card being a leftover piece I happened to have on the desk at the time!

Ok, below may not be the best photograph in the world, but I was trying to show you the fact that the hinge shaped, swirly thing (a die-cut left over from a scrapbook page) I have actually raised very slightly using silicone adhesive… great for lifting delicate things, such as lacey cardstock too.

The shot below just shows you the inside of the card with the ribbon on the front taken inside the card for a little bit of interest.
