The Tearooms is coming along nicely! Miles has been “painting for Britain” and as soon as he’d finished the whole of the house, he started on Tearooms and the taking down of walls, half of the old pub bar, ripping up the rotten carpet and demolishing the bonket seating.
Ok, so who knows what “bonket seating” is then? Our builder thought the phrase was most amusing and was unfamiliar with it?!
Anyway, whilst Miles has been busy shoving, pulling and throwing (we are on our 5th skip so far!)… I have been busy online trying to find, no less than 17 (yes seventeen) wall lights, plus tables, chairs, suppliers, kitchen worktops and units, catering equipment… need I go on?
I’ve been designing the Tearooms kitchen layout, the new logo, the staff uniform/costumes, choosing paint colours… phew!
I have already been on the Food Hygiene Course and had a meeting with the Environment officer, who has given me some sizeable bedtime reading!
And I have managed to put a few photos on the Tearooms website too!
Oh and today we took down the old, rotten sign on the front of the building!

Hello Sunday:o)
I’ve just had a look at the Tea Rooms. Love the Art Nouveau/Jugend design. I’m impressed with what you are doing and your enormous work capacity. I’m also impressed with your husband and how he works to finish the Tea Rooms. Good luck with everything. Next time I visit England I will do my best to come and have a look and have a proper tea. It’s ages since I last sat down with scones, cucumber sandwiches, wonderful cakes and everything else that comes with it.
Take care:o)
ha ha Sunday well its not what you’d think
